Session 1: 9-10:30 am
Educational Guide training
The main activity of the volunteer Educational Guide is to help assist with educational programs for families and youth at the Fields Pond Audubon Center. The EG needs an appreciation for the natural world, and a desire to share this enthusiasm with people of all ages. This position requires public speaking and positive group management skills. Registration required.
Session 2: 11 am-12 pm
Visitor Services training
Visitor Services (VS) volunteers help broaden the public’s knowledge, appreciation, and enjoyment of the Fields Pond Audubon Center. As a principal contact person for information about Fields Pond, VS volunteers greet visitors at the Center’s reception desk, respond to phone inquiries, take sales in the Nature Store, help maintain outdoor bird feeding stations, and assist with staff projects behind the scenes. This position requires attention to detail and a friendly, easy-going manner. Registration required.
