Borestone Naturalist Series: Breeding Behavior of Borestone’s Birds
Join us for this special series of guided walks to explore the natural and ecological features at Borestone.
Maine Audubon Staff Naturalist, Doug Hitchcox, leads a walk along the road to the Borestone Nature Center to look for breeding behavior of the birds that call Borestone their summer home. By this date we should see birds with recently fledged young, or even some tending to a second brood. We’ll take our time, focusing on behavior, and also discuss results of the Maine Bird Atlas (field work completed in 2022) to see how our observations match up.
Note: This program starts at the entrance gate to Borestone Mountain. Program fee includes the gate admission.
Members $10/Nonmembers $15
