Borestone Naturalist Series: Late Summer Morning Ramble

Join us for this special series of guided walks to explore the natural and ecological features at Borestone.

Join Sandi and Bob Duchesne for a leisurely hike around the Borestone Mountain Audubon Sanctuary.  We will be looking for migrating waterfowl, hawks, and songbirds as well as year-round resident species, while appreciating the natural beauty of a mature forest canopy and the earliest signs that autumn is approaching.  Some moderate uphill climbing is involved, but there will be plenty of stops to rest, observe, listen, and learn along the way.  Please wear sturdy hiking shoes and layered clothing for changeable wind and weather conditions, and bring binoculars and/or a camera, snacks, and sufficient water for a 2-3 hour morning hike.  We will be walking on well-maintained trails, and bugs (including deer ticks) are usually not a major problem this late in the year, but you may want to apply insect repellent as a precaution.

Program fee includes the gate admission.
