Artist Statement: Through weaving and stitching, I convert complex, intense experiences and emotions into vivid visual forms. Striving for balance, my work releases contained or hidden pain or provides solace by invoking the healing power of nature and spirit. I collect objects suffused with personal meaning and combine them with traditional and non-traditional materials using ancient fiber techniques. What many would throw away I hold onto as evidence of the invisible, incorporeal, or transitory. Each sculpture tells a story, primarily personal, yet often universal.
