York County
One CLAY-COLORED SPARROW continued to be reported from Kennebunk Plains this week with the last report from the 27th. This bird is most often heard singing near the tree line north of the Route 99 parking area.
A GREAT WHITE HERON was found in the Webhannet Marsh area in Wells on the 25th. This bird was photographed but any further sightings or documentation of the taxonomically uncertain species should be shared.
Greater Portland
A BLACK-NECKED STILT continued throughout the week in the Scarborough Marsh, best seen from the Eastern Trail. The bird can be difficult to spot in the tall grass but persistence is usually rewarded. Most successful reports this week were afternoon sightings. Two SEASIDE SPARROWS also continued in this area throughout the week.
A TRICOLORED HERON and two WHITE-FACED IBISES continue to be seen at various locations around the Scarborough Marsh. The presumed TRICOLORED HERON X SNOWY EGRET was seen again on June 29th in the pannes along Route 1 in Scarborough.
Downeast
Up to two HOODED WARBLERS were reported on Machias Seal Island this week.
Another HOOED WARBLER was reported from Roque Island off Jonesport on the 27th and 28th.
