Intro to iNaturalist

Looking for some help identifying tricky plants and insects?  Trying to time a visit to a special place with a particular bloom or hatch?  Interested in lending a hand to community science this summer?  Already using eBird, but looking for something similar for other taxa of flora and fauna?  iNaturalist is an important tool/app for beginners, naturalists, scientists, landowners, and landscape professionals.  Join Maine Audubon staff naturalist Doug Hitchcox to learn the basics of this international community science database, and how we can use it to better record and understand the places all around us.  We’ll also hear from partners using iNaturalist in projects around Maine, and give you suggestions on how and where to put your iNaturalist skills to work in community science projects.

Then, put your new skills to use and join us on Saturday, August 5, 10 am-12 pm at Riverton Trolley Park in Portland.  We’re working with the city to catalog the species found in this location. Learn more >
