Create your own paint from foraged pigments workshop
This workshop is sold out!
Learn about the history of pigments from artist Nathan Allard while making your own pigment from natural material found in Maine.
The workshop will include foraging for raw material and learning how to process it into pigment with the use of a mortar and pestle and a glass muller and plate. After making your own pigments, learn to temper the pigment with egg yolk for traditional Renaissance egg tempera painting. Basic paper and brushes will be available, but it is encouraged to bring your own good quality watercolor paper and favorite brushes.
