Bring Maine Audubon to your classroom

Another school year is underway for Maine teachers, and Maine Audubon’s educators are ready to deliver customized programming or curriculum for your students or community group. We believe in getting children outside to explore the woods, fields, and mudflats – to see and hear and feel nature for themselves.

This fall, we want to share how Maine Audubon can help integrate science, nature, and hands-on learning into your work. So please join us for an Educator Open House on November 7 from 3–6 pm. Stop by that afternoon to learn about our programs and resources or try out some activities. We will also have educator resources, samples of teacher workshops, classroom activities, and field trips. Karen, Molly, and Linda will be available to discuss your specific needs.

We are currently scheduling early childhood programs, classroom visits, and field trips focused on Maine wildlife and habitat. We can adapt these programs and can integrate citizen science field studies and/or service learning projects. We are dedicated to providing authentic science experiences and reaching STEM goals by following best practices for your students and learning community.

With a membership to our Educator Resource Center, you can check out taxidermy from Maine Audubon’s collection for classroom use. Keep an eye out for upcoming professional development opportunities, or reach out and see what can offer!
