We’re back! In November, Maine Audubon partnered with Fields Guides Inc. to run a tour to Peru to look for birds of Abra Malaga and the Sacred Valley, as well as taking in the culture and history at Machu Picchu and around Cusco. This trip brought us from subtropical forests to the high puna grasses (hiking over 15,000ft!) and into a threatened polylepis forest looking for exotic and endemic species, as well as some birds that breed in Maine.
On Tuesday, December 10, we’ll hold a Zoom presentation to discuss the trip. We’ll talk about the birds, food, culture, and give some tips in case you plan to go to Peru yourself (Doug can share first-hand why you don’t get in cars with strangers!) We’ll also be announcing our travel plans for 2025 and 2026!
This post will be updated after the presentation with more information on the Peru trip, and our future tours, but you can be the first to know by registering for our Peru Trip Report on Zoom, here: Peru Trip Report
