Symphyotrichum novae-angliae

While often considered tall and unremarkable during much of the growing season, I come on strong late in the year. I am the plant version of Mr. October for Red Sox Nation. Albeit a bit of a late bloomer, I am critical for Monarchs, painted ladies, and other migratory species needing to bulk up for long journeys.
