Get Ready for Summer Camp Sign-ups!

We appreciate the interest in our summer day camp offerings in recent years; however, as many of you know, this means our camps fill up quickly! For returning and new summer camp families, we wanted to share helpful tips on what to expect in this year’s registration process, including some changes we’ve made for an overall better experience.

Online registration will fall on Tuesday, March 7 and Wednesday, March 8 at 7:00pm EST. We understand midday registration times can create challenges with busy work or child care schedules, and we hope that this evening start will make the process more manageable. Start on our Day Camps page!

So why two registration dates? Registration will be split by age group this year: Preschool (Sprouts and Saplings) on March 7 and K-3 (Discovery Kids) on March 8. This breakdown will reduce the amount of traffic on our online registration platforms with the goal of making your experience smoother with less system errors. No technology is perfect, so please bear with us as we will do our best to promptly troubleshoot any issues. Please direct any questions or concerns to Emma Palmer at epalmer@maineaudubon.org. Phone calls will not be answered until the next business day.

Registration will be broken down by week, so that each age group will have multiple registration pages for each week/theme. For example, signing up for two weeks of Discovery Kids (K-3) would require two separate registration for each week. You will have the option to register more than one camper under the same registration. Summer camps are offered at Gilsland Farm (Portland area) and Fields Pond (Bangor area) Audubon Centers, so be sure to check that you are registering at the correct location. Schedules and details of weekly themes >

Do you offer waitlists?

Yes. Since summer camp spots can be competitive to secure, our registration system will automatically switch over to a waitlist once a week is sold out. Waitlist will ask for the same contact and billing information, but your credit card will not be charged. A Maine Audubon staff member will contact you if a spot becomes available, and your card will not be charged until we receive confirmation of interest from you.

Where can I find the camp schedules and weekly themes?

Visit the Day Camps page for schedules and answers to some commonly-asked questions about our camps.

How do I receive the Maine Audubon member discount on camp?

A minimum $50 Household Membership must be purchased prior to registration in order to receive camp discount. Memberships will not be refunded in the case that you are not able to secure a camp spot. Memberships are tax deductible to the extent provided by law. For membership questions, please call 207.781.2330 ext. 230 or email at member@maineaudubon.org.

Scholarships are available. Maine Audubon holds spots for scholarship applicants. The priority summer camp scholarship deadline is Friday, March 31. For more information, please call: (207) 781-2330, ext. 224 or email scholarships@maineaudubon.org.
