Flocking Together: Chicks, Charms, and Signs of Summer
It’s Goldfinch season!
Join us in celebrating a new book: Goldfinches, by Pulitzer Prize winning poet Mary Oliver, with illustrator Melissa Sweet.
Melissa will begin with a reading of Goldfinches, then teach us about these vibrant birds, including how they nest and raise their chicks, and why their collective noun is a “Charm of Goldfinches.” We’ll get tips on drawing birds, then participants are invited to collage bird chicks to take home and go on a birding walk to look for goldfinches and other feathered friends.
Books available for sale and signing to follow.
