Mast Landing Volunteer Work Day
Please join Maine Audubon’s Land Steward for a morning of sanctuary work at Mast Landing Audubon Sanctuary in Freeport, ME. Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks that include the installation of a series of new bog bridges along the sanctuary’s Ridge Trail, hauling timber materials for a bench building project, and trail wide corridor clearing.
Volunteers should be willing to hike up to 2 miles while carrying up to 50 lbs over uneven tread surfaces. Participants should also feel comfortable using hand tools such as hammers, pick mattocks, rock bars, folding saws, loppers, shovels, and cordless power drills.
Maine Audubon will provide all the necessary tools and will have a water cooler on site for bottle refills.
There is a primitive outhouse available on site that is a 0.3 mile hike in from the sanctuary parking lot.
