2024 Native Plants Festival

Choosing Native Plants: A Preview of Maine Audubon’s Plant Festival

Join Maine Audubon’s Native Plants Program Manager, Andrew Tufts, for a guided preview of the native plants that will be available at our June 6 Native Plants Festival and Sale. This webinar will help you understand the full range of trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants offered this year—while also highlighting new species and varieties added to the lineup.
We’ll explore how different plants function in Maine landscapes, including their habitat value for birds and pollinators, preferred growing conditions, and how they fit into home gardens of all sizes. The goal is to help you arrive at the Plant Festival feeling prepared, confident, and excited about your choices.

Whether you’re just getting started with native plants or looking to expand an existing landscape, this program will help you:
🌿Understand the diversity of plants available at the festival
🌿Match plants to site conditions like sun, shade, and soil moisture
🌿Learn which plants support wildlife throughout the seasons
🌿Get a preview of new and expanded offerings for 2026
