This year marks the Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center’s 50th Anniversary season!
Since 1972, the Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center has provided an idyllic spot for birders and nature lovers from Scarborough and beyond. While offering canoe and kayak tours, the Center also welcomes schoolchildren from across the state, including all third graders in Scarborough, to learn about the ecosystem of the marsh and the wildlife that live there.
We invite you to celebrate this Scarborough community gem by participating in or volunteering for one or more of our celebratory activities. Check back frequently as we’ll be updating this page with details and activities! The slate of events includes, but is not limited to:
- Earth Day clean-up (April 23)
- 15th Annual Memorial Day Snowy Egret 5K Road Race and Fun Run (In-person May 30; Virtual May 21-June 4)
- 50th Anniversary Celebration at The Landing on Pine Point (July 21)
- Snowy Egret Family Fun Day (August 6, 7 am to 4 pm) – a day of family fun, including an early morning bird walk at 7 am, nature crafts, used book sale, nature walks and more. There will be special programs for children as well as displays and information.
