Memorial Day weekend is nearly here — and with it the beginning of our 45th season at the Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center! We are gearing up for a full summer of activities and celebration, and we hope you’ll be able to join us.
The festivities kick off on Saturday, May 26 and run through the weekend. Swing by and take part in canoe and walking tours, nature crafts, used book and bake sale, demonstrations, exhibits, and more! On Sunday morning, we will also have a free bird walk beginning at 7:30 am.

The weekend will be capped with our annual Snowy Egret 5k Run/Walk. There is still time to register for this fun and popular race, which is the primary annual fundraiser for Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center, with additional proceeds benefiting Eastern Trail Alliance.
There are a number of reasons why this season is an especially important one to support Scarborough Marsh. In addition to the fact that it’s our 45th anniversary, we are also working hard to help the Center recover from significant damage it sustained from a number of winter storms. Your support will help us complete those repairs and ensure everyone has an awesome season.
Another great way to support us is by pledging our Birdathon team, the Mighty Marsh Muckers! We’ll be heading out this Saturday, May 19, in search of as many species as we can identify in 24 hours, and your pledges and donations will help support the education work at the Marsh. (We’ll be competing against Doug Hitchcox and his Distinguished Empids — another great cause to support…after you pledge the Muckers, of course.)
As always, if you have questions you can reach me at [email protected]. I hope to see you soon at the Marsh!
