Forest, Farm and Fish Bond Receives Committee Approval

The Forest, Farm and Fish Bond, LD 852, has been amended and received majority approval from the Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee.  That Committee approved the amended bill by a vote of 10-3.  The amended bill provides $5 million in bond funding for the Land for Maine’s Future program.  In an unusual move, the bill will be voted on by the full legislature when they return May 15 as a stand alone bill.  In years past, the bond package has been voted on as one full package.  Each bond bill requires two-thirds support of each body to pass.  This makes it even more important for people to contact their legislator and urge him or her to support the LMF Bond.  Please see our fact sheet for more information and important messages to share with legislators:
