Spring Plant Walk at Gilsland Farm (Saturdays)
Join us for a free plant walk and learn about our local plant species at Gilsland Farm. Seasonal Field Naturalist Andy Kapinos and Program Manager of Bringing Nature Home, Andrew Tufts, will lead a walk for all skill levels, focused on identification of native, exotic, and invasive species. We will walk a slow, one-mile loop around the forests and meadows of Gilsland Farm, observing the way plants form habitat for other native species. We will learn to identify our most common species through various methods, how to separate various lookalike species, and how to contribute our sightings to community-based science projects like iNaturalist.
The walk is offered free of charge, but donations are encouraged. Walks start and end at the Farmhouse (at the head of the driveway).
Saturdays, 3/25, 4/22, 5/20, 10am – 12pm
