Wildlife Photography Workshop for Girls
Is photography your passion? Do you love nature? A strong nature photograph can have a strong impact!
Join photographer Katie Schuler for a nature photography excursion at Maine Audubon’s Gilsland Farm Audubon Center. Learn great tips on how to capture your best image and how to ethically photograph wildlife.
This workshop is FREE for girls 13-18 (This workshop is for female-identified participants 13-18, though we do make exceptions for motivated students who may be a little older or younger!). In this in-person workshop you will learn about Katie’s experience and love for nature photography, go over basic photography instruction to improve your nature and wildlife photography, and learn proper field ethics. This workshop will start off in a classroom setting, then move into the field, where you can practice photographing and apply your newly learned knowledge. Smartphone cameras are fine; digital cameras will be available for participants to try as well.
Katie Schuler is a conservation filmmaker, National Geographic Storyteller & Head of Production at Coral & Oak Studios. An advocate for the planet’s most at-risk species, Katie leverages over a decade of filmmaking experience on six continents to tell engaging stories that speak to our shared sense of empathy and compassion.
Sponsored by Girls Who Click, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering teen girls to enter the male-dominated field of nature photography.
Hunts Photo & Video will be providing cameras for participants to use on the day of the workshop.
