“The Nature of Oaks” Author Presentation with Doug Tallamy
Doug Tallamy is the author of “Bringing Nature Home,” which inspired a national movement and Maine Audubon’s work around restoring native plants and ecology, especially in developed landscapes. His latest book focuses on what he describes as the most important genus in the plant kingdom — Quercus or our beloved Oak trees. Join us for an online presentation and discussion with Dr. Tallamy to learn more about what oak trees can do for you, your community, and the ecology all around us, as well as a little about what we can do for them
Douglas W. Tallamy is Professor and Chair of the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. Chief among his research goals is to better understand the many ways insects interact with plants and how such interactions determine the diversity of animal communities. His most recent book with Timber Press, Nature’s Best Hope, is a New York Times Best Seller.
