Summer Naturalist Series: Do Fireflies Sleep? at Fields Pond

Loss of ‘wild’ places, urbanization, light pollution. It’s exhausting. Even more so for fireflies which are facing a rapid decline. But where do they go during the day? Learn about this remarkable beetle that glows, on a warm July night in Maine. Discover some of the plants, nesting locations, food sources, and habitats necessary to provide shelter during daylight hours to fireflies so they may continue to shine brightly at night.
