Pollinator Parade and Picnic – SOLD OUT
This event is sold out!
Maine Audubon and Birth Roots present the 6th annual Pollinator Parade!
Calling all families of children 0-5, this year’s little Pollinator Parade was designed especially with toddlers and preschoolers in mind. Help us celebrate, call attention to, and raise awareness about the vital importance of our pollinators by dressing up as a bee, butterfly, ladybug, hummingbird, bat or other favorite woodland friend for some amazing photo opportunity activism (inspired by the Common Ground Fair kids’ garden parade!)
This is a rain or shine, outdoor, in person, mask optional event. It is essential to minimize our impact on the wildlife preserve at Gilsland Farm, both in terms of cars parked and foot traffic. In order to keep the number of vehicles and humans at a manageable level – this is a ticketed event. Please note the $25 per car parking pass system. Thank you for understanding and for carpooling!
Schedule:
10am – 11:30am Family Festival
Crafts, games, a pollinator scavenger hunt, and more!
11:30am – 12pm Sixth Annual Pollinator Parade
We will march through Gilsland Farm ringing bells and chimes, blowing bubbles and holding signs to celebrate spring and to show our support for pollinator habitat. Dressing up for the parade is highly encouraged for both children and adults! (Any local Maine wildlife, flora or fauna costume will work!)
12 – 1pm BYO Picnic
Participants are invited to stay and enjoy a BYO picnic on the grounds. Picnic tables are limited, so bring a picnic blanket and please be prepared to pack out any garbage.
