Offshore Wind Energy and the Environment
Maine Audubon is hosting a four-part weekly series of virtual, educational presentations focused on issues related to the development of offshore wind in the Gulf of Maine. There is vast potential for offshore wind technology to play a big role in Maine’s pivot to green energy, but there are many unknowns about its impacts to wildlife and the environment. This session will cover offshore wind energy and the environment and feature special guest Dr. Trevor Peterson, of Stantec, a senior biologist and project manager who specializes in work related to renewable energy projects, bat migration, and rare species assessments. He will be joined by Maine Audubon biologist and GIS manager Sarah Haggerty.
