Tuesday, February 22 — Animal Tracking & Winter Ecology
Explore how animals move through nature during this season of cold as we search for the tracks and traces they leave behind. We’ll play games, create art, and explore the trails at Fields Pond.
Wednesday, February 23 — Winter Birds
Learn about the many adaptations birds use to survive Maine’s winter season. Where are they coming from? How do they stay warm? What will they eat? Campers will actively learn all about birds, building bird feeders, and exploring the trails at Fields Pond.
Thursday, February 24 — Snow Science
Explore how snow is formed and how it creates homes for critters in the winter. We will get creative with frozen art and “cool” science experiments!
Friday, February 25 — Animal Adaptations
Animals have a surprising array of techniques they use to meet the challenges of a Maine winter. We’ll learn their strategies and challenge ourselves in an outdoor winter survival game!
