A Peony Day to Remember

Earlier this week, we celebrated our dedicated members and supporters at our annual Peony Bloom & Ice Cream Social.

Hundreds of folks joined us at Gilsland Farm in Falmouth — reveling in the peonies at their absolute peak, and enjoying some delicious ice cream from Toot’s in Yarmouth and the musical stylings of Flight 317. Many people joined us as members for the first time, too!

Our Executive Director Andy Beahm also had an opportunity to bestow gifts on attendees who were being inducted into our Peony Circle of Friends — Maine Audubon members who have been supporting us for 20 years or more. And WGME’s Adam Epstein did his weather reports live from our peony garden.

If you couldn’t make it, please enjoy the images below, courtesy of staff photographer Ariana van den Akker. Swing by Gilsland Farm and you can still appreciate the brilliance of the peony blooms for a while longer (please note, however, that the ice cream is long gone).

See you next year!
