Early September is a fun time to be watching shorebirds. The abundance of immature birds mixed in with adults adds a degree of difficulty, plus this is the time we often see some of the less common species, like Western and Buff-breasted Sandpipers. Join staff naturalist, Doug Hitchcox, for a van trip to local shorebird hotspots to study this diverse group as they stop over on their southbound migration. We will meet at Gilsland Farm in Falmouth at 7AM and travel by van.
This trip is highly recommended for anyone who attends the earlier workshop: https://maineaudubon.org/events/be-sure-about-shorebirds-workshop-2017/
