Community Preschool Programs
Inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards.
Time spent outdoors increases a child’s use of imagination, concentration and observation skills. Connect your students to nature, learn about wildlife in your school yard or take a field trip to a favorite local park! Our Community Preschool programs offer a variety of options that can be tailored to fit with your needs.
Maine Audubon’s Community Preschool programs adhere to Maine Early Learning Guidelines. Programs are designed for groups of children 3-5 years old.

Prices start at $50/hour. If price is a prohibitive factor in working with us, please let us know. Our goal is to make our programs accessible to more preschool children.

Gardening for Wildlife
Maine Audubon can help design habitat in your school yard that will attract wildlife your students can observe year-round. We will utilize your current landscaping and add native food and shelter that animals need to survive. Birds, bees and insects are a few of the animals you may see.
We offer customized programs and collaborative planning to meet your specific curriculum needs. We can:
Design and teach lessons in your classroom, at Gilsland Farm or a location of your choice
Identify field sites at or around your school to use for inquiry and instruction
Coach you in how to use field sites for effective student learning
Provide content expertise
Identify or develop additional resources for learning
Explore and co-design green practices for your school
