GRADES K-5 Vacation Camp: February 16-19

9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Members: $60/day or $220/week
Non Members $75/day or $280/week

A new theme will be introduced each day through cooperative games, scientific examination and creative arts exploration. Campers may sign up for individual days or attend the entire week.

Monday: President’s Day, NO CAMP

Tuesday 2/16: Wild About Winter>>
Join us for winter fun and exploration! We’ll search for the tracks and signs of Gilsland Farm’s many winter creatures, learn how animals survive the winter, play games in the snow and much more! Sign up>>

Wednesday; 2/17: Winter Peepers>>
Come explore the birds who are here throughout the winter! Campers will learn how to identify birds of Gilsland Farm and create ways to enhance their habitat through crafts, games and citizen science! Learn more>>

Thursday; 2/18: Frosty Explorations>>
How do animals get through the harsh Maine winter? How do they stay warm? Through crafts, games, and other activities, we will explore the different ways animals adapt to the cold. Register now>>

Friday; 2/19: Frozen Treasure – Includes a Live Animal Show at 10:30am!>>
Find hidden surprises on the sanctuary by solving animal riddles, puzzles, and mysteries. Hide a small cache of treats like red squirrels do and challenge friends to find them. Learn more>>

PRESCHOOL Program: February16-18
“Look What I Found!”

9:15 am to 1:00 pm
Members: $45/day or $125/week
Non Members $60/day or $175/week

Kids age 3-5 will explore and enjoy nature through free play, stories, songs, movement, games, natural crafts and hikes. Come prepared to be indoors (slippers) and explore outside (full winter gear). Each day has its own theme, but contribute to the week’s theme: Winter Adaptations. Preschoolers may sign up for individual days or attend the entire week.

Campers will explore and enjoy nature through free play, stories, songs, movement, games, natural crafts and hikes. Each day has its own theme, but each contributes to the week’s theme of Bringing Nature Home. Children will explore how all things are connected and what we can do to support wildlife in our backyards. Come prepared to be indoors and explore outside.

Monday: 4/18: Signs of Spring>>
Celebrate the start of spring and observe the emerging animals and plants at Gilsland Farm. Hike your trails to observe the various signs of springs, and participate in interactive games and crafts. Learn more>>

Tuesday; 4/19: Conservation Explorers>>
Explore hoe water connects the habitats of many animals by exploring our pong, learning how stream culverts provide connections for wildlife and more! We will identify ecological problems and you will develop a solution and present it to your peers in this interactive and hands-on session. Sign up>>

Wednesday; 4/20: Slimy Mud Muckers!>>
What’s the scoop?! Come take a close look at the pond and marsh to see what might be moving as the weather gets warmer. Explore the many species who appreciate live in our wetlands. Register now>>

Thursday; 4/21: Nature Gives!>>
What does nature give you? We will explore plants that provide food and shelter for many animals (and people)! Build shelters, find food and learn how animals survive in different habitats. Learn more>>

Friday; 4/22: Earth Day! – Includes a LIVE ANIMAL SHOW at 10:30am!>>
Celebrate the Earth! We will play games, go on hikes and learn about Maine’s wildlife. Campers will be able to create a seed project to help wildlife in their community. Reserve a space>>

Child Members: $40/day or $100/three day session
Child Non-members: $55/day or $150/three day session

Children ages 6-12 will engage in outdoor exploration, discovery and fun. Guest naturalists and artists will join us in our adventures.
