Hog
Island Audubon Camp Offers Naturalist-led Wildlife Cruises Along the
Midcoast
BREMEN, Maine, June 22, 2007—With
champagne foam glistening from a bottle just broken across her bow,
Puffin V recently made her maiden voyage across Muscongus Bay and is
ready to carry residential and day-time guests of historic Hog Island
Audubon Center.
“We’re excited that our newest boat to carry the name ‘Puffin’
will allow us to explore the bay with large groups from our residential
programs,” said Seth Benz, director of Hog Island Audubon Center.
“Plus, we’ll also be able to use our second boat, Osprey
III, to operate trips for day visitors from our mainland visitor center.”
Naturalists from Hog Island Audubon Center will lead trips on both boats.
Space is still available in some of the center’s residential programs
as well as its day trips, which leave from the dock at Todd Audubon
Sanctuary in Bremen (across the channel from Hog Island).
