Gliding through the marsh, you will be exposed to its many inhabitants, from the snowy egret catching fish along the edge of the river to the mummichugs swimming in the water. A trained naturalist will show you the numerous marsh plants and even give you a taste of an edible one. This tour is suitable for both novice and experienced paddlers. 10 – 11:30 Daily. No reservations needed.

    IMG_8331Explore the marsh in the early morning when the animals are most active.  We will watch for shorebirds feeding in the mud, herons returning to feed on fish in the river and maybe a playful mink running along the bank looking for food.

    Visit the Scarborough Marsh on the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend.  Experience the sights and sounds of marsh creatures under the full moon. Watch for black-crowned night heron along the bank or snowy egret flying back to a nearby island for the evening. We may even see a harbor seal or a muskrat playing in the water.

  • Fabulous Fall Canoe Tour – Great Maine Outdoor Weekend

    • Grades 7 and up

    This 1.5 hour program provides a special opportunity to see the fall changes to the salt marsh. We will see migrating birds (including shorebirds and raptors) and the beautiful fall colors of the many plants of the marsh.  We are proud to be part of the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend.
