Gulls can be an intimidating group of birds to learn how to identify though we see them every day. Winter is a good time to learn gulls because they have completed molting and are more easily identified to age, or which “cycle” they are in.
Join our staff Naturalist, Doug Hitchcox, for trip around the Portland Waterfront where you’ll focus on learning how to tell all of these large larids (gulls) apart. Our first stop will be at the boat launch at the Eastern Promenade (see map link above).
