LD 1847, An Act to Clarify Outcome Based Forestry, has been enacted by both the House and Senate! We applaud the ACF Committee for their unanimous support of the bill and Sen. Jim Boyle and Rep. Jeff McCabe for their leadership on this important issue. We hope that the Governor will not veto the bill.
The House voted to reject LD 1838, which proposes to steal money from public lands. Rep.s Dill, Jones, Saucier, Gideon, and Hickman all gave great speeches in opposition. The House has approved the amended Lakes Bill, LD 1744, by a vote of 135-0. Onto the Senate.
LD 1252, the Solar Rebate bill, as amended, has been enacted in both the House and Senate and is pending the Governor’s signature. LD 1652, the Solar Study bill, is tabled in the Senate. We expect this to be voted on this week.
LD 1626 has been amended. In this new version, a portion of the milfoil sticker money that was sent to the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is being sent to a new account at the Department of Environmental Protection. This new account is specifically designed for eradication. This additional money will be available every …
LD 1744, as amended by a majority of the Environment and Natural Resources Committee, is tabled in the House and likely to be voted on this week. We continue to support this bill
LDs 616 and 1323 have had votes in the House and are likely to be voted on in the Senate tomorrow. Both bills have been amended and were accepted by the House. We continue to oppose both bills.
The Senate rejected the bad mining rules by approving LD 1772 without debate this morning. The Senate also approved LD 1851 which delays the effective date of the Mining Act until June 2016. Both bills require an additional votes in both the House and Senate.
The Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee (ACF) voted unanimously in support of an amended Outcome Based Forestry Bill, LD 1847. Sen. Eloise Vitelli offered an amendment that was modified slightly and approved by the entire committee.
