Christmas Bird Count

The annual Christmas Bird Count enlists thousands of volunteers across the entire western hemisphere to count every bird call and sighting they record. For over a century, it’s been a citizen science tradition of hundreds of Audubon chapters and groups nationwide, and the long record of data provides valuable insights into how bird populations and their habitats are doing, and what needs to be done to protect them.

The 113th Annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count will take place Dec 14, 2012 to January 5, 2013.
